What is the blind zone ?

Every sensors have limitations. The Eddy Current sensors for “full fabrication monitoring” are known to have a blind zone of about 4.5mm from the build-plate. It means that the first 4.5mm will have non-reliable data.

The physical reason of this blind zone comes from the non-desirable electromagnetic response of the build-plate.

For applications such as “first layers monitoring”, we developed tools to counter-act the effect of the build-plate.
